OUR HISTORY
Brincar de Bola was born from the shared experience of two professional physical coaches — Rafael Marcato, from São Paulo, and Jeronymo Vasques, from Rio de Janeiro.
Rafael grew up playing soccer as a goalkeeper before becoming a professional physical coach. Jeronymo began his career as an Assistant Physical Coach with the professional team of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo. Over the years, both of us worked in highly competitive sporting environments, where performance, results and competition were part of everyday life.
But becoming fathers changed the way we looked at childhood.
We began to ask ourselves what we really wanted for our own children. We didn't want childhood to become another competition. We wanted our children to enjoy being children — to play, have fun, be curious, experiment, make mistakes, try again and learn from their own experiences.
Just like learning to ride a bicycle. Just like climbing a tree.
Children don't need to get everything right the first time. They need the freedom to try, discover what works, make mistakes and try again.
Instead of creating another soccer school and returning to the competitive environment we already knew so well, we chose a different path.
We wanted to create opportunities for children to move, play and learn through enjoyable experiences — without the pressure of winning, scoring or being compared with others.
And we found our inspiration in something wonderfully simple: the ball.
A ball doesn't need to be part of a game with rules. A child can roll it, throw it, catch it, carry it, push it, chase it, share it — or simply invent a completely new way to play with it.
One ball can become a tool for movement, imagination, interaction and discovery.
That's when the idea of Brincar de Bola came to life.
A program born from our professional experience, our experience as fathers, and our belief that children learn best when they are given the freedom to play, move, explore and discover.
